Protect What Matters with SUN’s Trusted Contacts Program

Scams and fraud are on the rise and they often target the people we love most. At SUN Credit Union, your financial safety is our top priority. That’s why we’re proud to offer our new Trusted Contacts program, an optional but highly recommended benefit for members.

What is a Trusted Contact?

A Trusted Contact is someone you authorize SUN Credit Union to reach out to only in the event of suspicious activity, a potential scam, or an emergency that could impact your financial well-being. This person does not have access to your account or control over your money.

By designating a Trusted Contact, you’re giving yourself a powerful extra layer of protection—without giving up control.

How It Helps You

  • Fight Fraud: If we suspect financial abuse, scams, or a health-related crisis, we can notify your Trusted Contact.
  • Peace of Mind: You’ll have someone you trust looking out for your best interest.
  • Stay in Control: Your Trusted Contact can’t access your funds—they’re only notified in emergencies.
  • Choose Who You Trust: You can name a family member, close friend, or even an attorney—anyone age 18 or older that you trust to support you.

Why It Matters

Every year, thousands of people fall victim to fraud—especially seniors and vulnerable adults. With a Trusted Contact on file, SUN Credit Union can take action sooner to protect your money if we suspect something isn’t right.

This program is for every member 18 and older. It’s a simple step that can make a big difference.

Signing Up Is Easy

Getting started is as simple as filling out a short form. You can name more than one Trusted Contact if you’d like—and you can update or remove your Trusted Contact at any time. Just make sure your Trusted Contact is also 18 or older. Print the Trusted Contact Form below, fill it out, and return it to your local SUN CU branch.
